PACINO

Mixed Breed male, 1 year old and 57 handsome pounds

PACINO UPDATE! Mr. Pacino went on a Fido Field Trip with one of our volunteers! Here what she told us: Pacino is such a sweetheart. He appears to be potty trained. He loved the car ride, and loves his toys! Pacino really likes men, and he’s a lover. He's a typical bulldog and can be stubborn if he doesn’t want to go where you want him to— he thinks he is calling the shots! Pacino has a high prey drive and it would take some time and patience for him to get used to a kitty. He is a doll and he’s smart.

Pacino was brought to the shelter by an Animal Protection officer. You can see that he has lots of scars that look like he was in a dog fight. We found Pacino to be very friendly and outgoing with people. With other dogs he was not reactive but also not trusting. Pacino will have to meet any potential dog housemates. Pacino walks nicely on leash and enjoys going for walks.

REESE

Male, 1 year old, cattle dog mix, 60 pounds

Reese is a velcro dog and loves to always walk and be by your side. We think he would be a great emotional support animal! Reese loves the couch and seems to be potty trained. Reese takes a little bit of time to warm up with other k9s, so must meet any potential doggy friends before going home.

CASANOVA

Mixed Breed NEUTERED male, 2 years old and 56 darling pounds

Casanova is a happy-go-lucky, fun dog. He knows basic commands such as sit, down, and walks well on leash. He was more than happy to play with toys and even knows how to play fetch! Casanova enjoyed meeting other dogs and would probably do well with another k9 friend in his new home. Due to his high energy, we recommend older children.

BROOKS

Mixed Breed male, 1 year old and 96 pretty adorable pounds!

**UPDATE FROM CASA DE LAURA! Brooks is currently being fostered by the one and only Laura! Here's what she told us about Brooks: ** Brooks is a 2 year old Dog Argention who was found as a stray with his brother in November, 2023. He stayed in the shelter until July 12, 2024 when he came to foster care. Typical of the breed, he’s a big boy, weighing in at 95 lbs. These dogs were bred for hunting, and don’t usually do well with smaller animals, or same sex dogs.

BROOKS

  • Is crate trained

  • Housebroken

  • Knows basic obedience: sit, down, wait, walks ok on leash
  • Catches treats in the air, knows shake
  • Sits at the door before going out/coming in

BROOKS enjoys playing with female dogs and toys. He has his favorite ducky that he throws in the air and chases after. Typical of the breed, he has sensitive skin, and is allergic to chicken, straw, and grass. He is on a salmon based kibble, and gets a bath with medicated shampoo weekly, and is also on benedryl, all which keep the allergy under control. Brooks a very sweet guy, who loves human attention, and has many volunteer friends from the shelter who he likes to visit there. Knowledge of the breed, and big dog experience preferred. The best home for him is one that has a female who he can play with, no other pets, and older children. Dogos are active dogs, and need plenty of exercise. They are not backyard dogs.

Brooks is worried meeting new people, but he quickly warms up with a few treats. Brooks shows some interest in toys but he’s not real sure what they are all about! Brooks is easy to leash up and he enjoys going for walks. Our wonderful volunteer, Angela, told us that Brooks walks GREAT on-leash! We are recommending older kids in Brooks’ new home, just because he can be a little shy. Brooks would probably enjoy a female canine friend. but a meet and greet with any dog is a must.

MO

Mixed Breed male, 3 years old and 71 handsome pounds.

This guy has the sweetest face! Mo is very friendly with people and easy to handle and walks well on leash! Mo seems to enjoy being outside if it’s not raining. He’s mellow when he comes in, and likes hangin’ in the meet and greet room, where he walks up and greets everyone that comes in! Mo will want to be a part of the family, and spending as much time as he can with his new pack! And the icing on the cake??—he also appears to be dog friendly! Our ace volunteer, Angela, told us that "Mo is a GREAT DOG! He’s been at the shelter for a while now. He’s quiet, calm, sweet and a great walker."

COURTESY POST--INDIO

FROM INDIO’S GUARDIAN Meet Indio - he is 100lbs of LOVE! Indio is a 5-6 year old, neutered, American Bulldog. Mr. I loves to be close by at all times. He should probably be the only dog in the house based on his past, but he has not been dog reactive with us when on leash. He doesn’t seem prey driven either, but he hasn’t been around cats with us. He does great on leash and he’s really very mellow. We rescued him so he wouldn’t be put down in Glenn County, but we are committed to fostering now, so we want to find him a good home. No adoption fee. IF YOU'RE INTERESTED IN LEARNING MORE ABOUT, OR MEETING INDIO, PLEASE CALL AMY AT THE UKIAH SHELTER: 467-6453 OR INDIO'S GUARDIAN AT (530)277-5891.
